EU REFERENDUM RESULT: SPECIAL: 00.00 - 01.00
London: Millbank: *** WARNING SOME FLASH PHOTOGRAPHY ***Robert Peston and Nigel Farage MEP (UKIP Leader, Remain) LIVE interview SOT- It's going to be close, who wins this particular battle I don't know - what I do know is that the euro-sceptics are going to win this war because the genie is out of the bottle- anyone that voted Leave today, whether we win or lose, is never going to change their minds because what we've got next week is the beginning of Turkey negotiations - most remarkable thing is not what happened in British politics over past few months but what's happened in European politics, not seen opinion polls in the Netherlands, Denmark, even in Italy where 50 percent of the population of those countries support leaving the European Union, the project is dead, this British referendum has changed the landscape forever - still think when we get big London results through, probably Remain might nick it by a fraction, who's to say, but win or lose this battle tonight we are going to win this overall, European union is bad for Britain and very bad for the Labour party because that's what Sunderland showed us tonight - this disconnect that exists in British politics between what happens here in SW1 and the rest of the country- (on future of UKIP if win) If we win this Referendum tonight what has to happen is the British government has to carry out the wishes of the people and it'll be UKIP and UKIP alone there posing electoral threat to make sure it actually happens / other countries voted gainst EU but had it forced in the back door / winning tonight is great, if we get the try tonight that's wonderful but we need to convert it as well - Government managed to get an extra 2 million people registered, because the website crashed they extended it, the Government did their job and did it very well and maybe those extra two million people at the end of the day will make the difference- (if lost) don't think legal challenge is the way forward, ...
