Hundreds rally across Moroccan cities on 48th Palestine Land Day anniversary

RABAT, MOROCCO - MARCH 30: Hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets in several cities across Morocco on the occasion of the 48th anniversary of Palestine Land Day. The protests aimed to highlight the plight of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, calling for an end to the hunger inflicted by Israeli attacks and the cessation of Palestinian displacement. Organized by various civil organizations including the Moroccan Solidarity with Palestine Front and the National Action Group for Palestine, the demonstrations resonated in cities such as Fez, Meknes, Tetuan, El Jadida, and Taroudant. These gatherings underscored solidarity with Gaza, which has endured relentless bombardment and blockade by the Israeli army since October 7, 2023. Palestine’s Land Day, March 30, is an annual day of commemoration for Palestinians of the events of that date in 1976 when Israeli authorities confiscated vast areas of Palestinian land. This year, Land Day comes amid an Israeli deadly military offensive on Gaza since an Oct. 7 cross-border attack led by Hamas in which some 1,200 Israelis were killed.
