Senator Schatz press statement as House moves tax reform
Hawaii Senator Brian Schatz tells reporters that a tax reform bill looks like it was written for donors rather than constituents as New York Congressman Chris Collins gave away the game in saying on the record, that Republicans were pursuing the bill to make donors happy. Schatz says that the bill is good for hedge funds and great for foreign investors but someone has to foot the bill and that would be college students, families trying to buy a home and parents making less than $55,000 a year, Republicans rushing the bill because it cannot survive scrutiny and a version from the House would very likely be a stinker.
