Amsterdam protesters use empty pots to draw attention to Gaza famine
AMSTERDAM, NETHERLANDS - JULY 27: Crowds gathered in Amsterdam on Sunday, July 27, to protest the worsening famine in Gaza, using empty pots, pans, and spoons to make noise and draw attention to the crisis.
Demonstrators marched through tourist-heavy areas of the Dutch capital, calling for an immediate end to the violence in Gaza and condemning Israel’s actions.
Protesters also criticized the Netherlands for its support of Israel, demanding accountability and justice for Palestinians.
Gaza’s hunger crisis has spiraled into a humanitarian catastrophe. Harrowing footage shows severely emaciated residents, some reduced to skin and bone, collapsing from exhaustion, dehydration and prolonged starvation. (Footage by Mouneb Taim /Anadolu Agency via Getty Images)
