Hundreds of thousands march in Poland anti-government protest
As many as 500,000 protesters marched through central Warsaw on Sunday 4 July 2023 in a rally held on the 34th anniversary of the historic election which ended communism in Poland. Largest opposition party led a march meant to moblize voters against right-wing goverment.
Supporters of the march have warned that the election in autum 2023 might be the nation’s last chance to stop the erosion of democracy under Law and Justice Party amid growing fears that the fall election might not be fair. (Footage by STR/NurPhoto via Getty Images)
