Lung carcinoid tumour cells, light micrograph - stock photo

Light micrograph of a carcinoid neuroendocrine tumour of the lung. The lung is a common site for occurrence of neuroendocrine tumours. The tumour cells, seen in the left half of this image, have small round oval to slightly elongated nuclei (dark blue) and moderate amounts of cytoplasm (lighter blue-pink around blue dots). The tumour cells are seen adjacent to normal lung alveoli (pink, right half of image). There are also several macrophage cells with hemosiderin pigment seen (brown). Haematoxylin and eosin stained tissue section. Magnification: 200x when printed at 10cm
