A beautiful, large adult speckled kingsnake. This impressive animal was sheltering alongside another adult kingsnake under the same board on the Texas Coast. Out of all the boards flipped that day, only one had snakes under it; although these snakes were likely a pair, it never fails to amaze me how reptiles and amphibians often show up as multiples under the same cover object.
