Anti Mosley clash in Ridley Road London
A large crowd gathered in Ridley Road, E8 to demonstrate against former fascist leader Sir Oswald Mosley and members of his anti-Semitic Blackshirt group who had planned a rally in London's East End. Mosley and his group were assaulted and punched to the ground as soon as his meeting opened at Ridley Road, Dalston. Police closed the meeting within the first three minutes and made 54 arrests, one of which was Sir Oswald's son Max. Police hold back one of the angry demonstrators, 31st July 1962.
