SRINAGAR, INDIA: Indian soldiers stand alert beside the wreckage of a taxicab destroyed in a powerful explosion at the entrance to the airport in Srinagar,23 December 2005. A powerful explosion ripped apart a taxicab at a military checkpoint at the entrance to an Indian Air Force airfield on the outskirts of the summer capital of Jammu and Kashmir, defence sources said. Police believe that explosives were hidden in two boxes of apples that the driver of the taxicab was asked to deliver to an official at the airfield.
