Assembly in Central Hall
(Original Caption) Here is a general view of the United Nations General Assembly in session in Central Hall, London. In this not-too- imposing setting men of good will are going about laying the foundations for the "brave new world", with peace predominating. Latest move in the assembly was made by U.S. Secretary of State James F. Byrnes, who called for the prompt creation of a commission on control of atomic energy. Sec. Byrnes also asked that the security council be given the force it needs to maintain peace in the atomic age.
