Botanical drawing of a Juniper plant: The juice of young leaves and berries taken in vine was recommended against snake bite and Plague. Juniper oil vas prescribed for toothache and gout. The dried powdered resin was used to treat worms in children, and piles. The berries were used in the production of gin, and the resin mixed with linseed oil provided a varnish.
