Imperial Palace Of 1,300 Years Ago Reappears At New Park In Nara

Video footage taken in Nara shows the Nara Palace Site Historical Park, a facility built on the site of the Heijo-kyo imperial palace complex that served as the seat of political and cultural life about 1,300 years ago. Video was shot on May 12, 2017, Japan.Opened to the public on March 24, the park features the Daiichiji Daigokuden, the imperial audience hall compound used for the most important ceremonial occasions of state. Shrubs arranged in a row across from the northern side of the structure mark where the pillars of a building believed to have been used for preparing banquets and meals for the emperor once stood. Also shown is the site of the Dainiji Daigokuden, a second compound, with stones arranged to demark the extent of its recreated foundations.
