Iraqi forces advance into Western Mosul

A Sky News team followed the push by Iraqi forces into the suburbs of western Mosul today - as the battle to oust Islamic State from the city entered its most dangerous phase. Mosul is the second largest city in Iraq. It was captured by I.S. militants in 2014 and is their last remaining stronghold in the country. Iraqi forces seized the airport yesterday -- a strategically significant prize. They now plan to use it as a base for their assault on the IS-controlled western part of the city. Sky's Alex Rossi is just northeast of the airport in the neighbourhood of Dan-dan, and sent this report. Interview with Sergeant Ihab Kadhim, Emergency Response Division on February 24, 2017 in Mosul, Iraq.
