Sir Alan Sugar attends apprenticeship seminar in Gateshead

Sir Alan Sugar attends apprenticeship seminar in Gateshead; Sugar press conference SOT - (On being called 'window dressing' for government) I think that is a nasty question to be honest with you, this is the 4th seminar I have come to in this process, started in February, in London, Birmingham / If you do your homework as a journalist should do, I have been doing roadshows last 10-15 years, universities and colleges, take exception to that suggestion - (On how important it is for companies to invest in young people) We are in difficult times; liken it to having a flood at home, you can either sit with ankles up to water and moan, or forget about the past and get up and do something about it, businesses need to invest in the young for the future, want to dispel rumour that apprentices are good because they are cheap, they are expensive in the fact the employer has to invest their time also, still have to invest at the front end with young people, will be the future of the company - (New government role) I am not here to discuss my new government role; this is the fourth seminar in the apprenticeship initiative, hopefully do more, and not part of the so-called government role that was announced last week
