Amari Resigns As Economy Minister Over Bribery Scandal
Economy minister Akira Amari announced his resignation to take responsibility for a bribery scandal but insisted the 1 million yen ($8,400) he received from a construction company was clean , shot on January 28, 2016 in Tokyo, Japan.
“Out of respect for my duty as a Cabinet member and to take moral responsibility as a politician, I have decided to resign from the ministerial post today,” Amari said at a news conference in Tokyo.
