Cuttlefish (Sepiida) Two Cephalopod are locked and intertwined in a mating ritual. Location is the Andaman Sea, Krabi, Thailand. This is a classic display of primal instinctive animal behavior, which ensures their survival. - stock video
Two cuttlefish are mating above a coral reef in the Andaman Sea, Thailand. One of the 'tentacles' of the male is it's sexual organ that we see here inserted into the body of the female. The sexual dance appears almost violent as the female is impregnated before swimming away. This is a primal instinctive behavior displayed by the Cephalopod, that ensures the survival and success of the species. Footage taken whilst scuba diving.
