The fortified Gothic Cistercian Monastery is one of the finest Gothic structures in the Czech Republic .Located on the Vltava River, Vyssi Brod (German: Hohenfurth) belonged to the Rosenberg estate. In 1259 Vok of Rosenberg founded the Vyssi Brod Cistercian monastery, in the district of Cesky Krumlov, Southern Bohemia.
