These compact plants boast delicate and mostly pink flowers, of varying shades from a light pastels to a deep magentas, which bloom during late winter to early spring. Happily foraging amongst the myrtle's blossoming flowers is a European Honey bee (Apis mellifera) enjoying an early spring feast in the sunshine.
