Swan River Myrtle - Hypocalymma robustum + Bee - stock photo
Close up image of my favourite flowering Australian native shrub, the Swan River Myrtle, scientific name, Hypocalymma robustum. These compact plants boast delicate and mostly pink flowers, of varying shades from a light pastels to a deep magentas, which bloom during late winter to early spring. Happily foraging amongst the myrtle's blossoming flowers is a European Honey bee (Apis mellifera) enjoying an early spring feast in the sunshine.
