National Guard Watching Over Students
Young women students walk past members of the Arkansas National Guard, stationed there by Governor Orval Faubus to prevent nine African American high school students from attending. Twenty one days after this, President Dwight Eisenhower deployed units from the 101st Airborne to allow the students into the school.
