Digging At Holocaust Mass Grave

According to media reports 753 bodies of Jews and political prisoners are buried at the site, which is located on the grounds of the former concentration camp of Lieberose. The Nazis brought thousands of prisoners to Lieberose from the Sachsenhausen and Auschwitz concentration camps in order to build a training center for the Waffen SS, the elite arm of the Nazi military, between 1943 and 1945. Though the existence of the site has been known and the Lieberose camp is well documented, authorities had up until now been unable to excavate the site because of a dispute with the current owner of the now private property.
