SPORT-AUTO-24 HOURS OF LE MANS-ENDURANCE-RENAULT
The Renault Sport team Renault Alpine A442 N°2 of French drivers Didier Pironi and Jean-Pierre Jaussaud crosses the finish line on June 11, 1978, winning the 46th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans on the circuit de la Sarthe in Le Mans, western France. The first edition of the endurance race was run on May 26 and 27, 1923. After a Porsche - Renault Alpine duel, the 46th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans was won by Renault Sport for its first and only victory.
