TABACO, PHILIPPINES: The National Food Athority of the Philippines imports rice from Vietnam on board the cargo ship Vinh Phuoc as workers unload 10,800 tons of rice, southeast of Manila port of Tabaco, 05 July 2007. Vietnam is one of the world's largest exporters of the cereal. Rice-eating Philippines has lower yields and has to import some rice to feed its population of 87 million. The government said 05 July that inflation rose at a slower pace of 2.3 percent in June, compared to 2.4 percent in May, due to slower increases in the prices of food, beverages and tobacco.
