Shirley Temple Being Made Honorary Colonel
(Original Caption) The Little Colonel...Shirley Temple gained this title for the second time in a week when the American Legion Post 43, Hollywood, made her an honorary Colonel at a ceremony conducted in the clubhouse. Marching into the auditorium behind the post's championship band between the officers conducting the ceremony, the tiny Fox actress faced an audience of over 1,000 to receive her commission from the hands of Colonel Reginald Barlow, retired. This is the second time within a week that the star has been made a Colonel, Governor C. Ben Ross of Idaho having so honored in making her an aide de camp only a few days ago.
