(Original Caption) The feud between the White House and Rep. Martin Dies of Texas, chairman of Committee investigating feud Activities, flared anew when Rep. Dies went on the air to "carry my case" to the nation by radio, October 31. Rep. Dies said that Cabinet members and Communists had attempted To Stifle and discredit His committee and its inquiry. Dies accused President Roosevelt, the Justice Department, and the WPA of ignoring a Congressional request that his committee be staffed with stenographers, investigators and attorneys from the executive departments. Rep. Dies is shown above as he spoke on the radio.
