A team of radiomen broadcast concerts on the circuit of Le Mans thanks to their portable sets, on June 15, 1952 during the 20th edition of the 24 hours of Le Mans car race. The first edition of the endurance race was run on May 26 and 27, 1923. In 1952, seven years after the end of the Second World War, the German manufacturer Mercedes made a comeback on the motorsport scene and won a double at the 20th edition of the 24 Hours of Le Mans with the Mercedes Benz 300 SL of pilots Hermann Lang-Fritz Riess and Helmut Niedermayr-Theo Helfrich.
