MIAMI, : Skippers Bruno Peyron of France and Cam Lewis of the US along with a small crew sail the 86 foot Catamaran "Explorer" off the coast of Miami Beach 30 May 1999 as they began their attempt to set a new sailing record between Miami and New York City. Lewis and Peyron will attempt as well to break the old transatlantic record of 6 days, 13 hours and 03 minutes that was set by Peyron back in 1990 when they leave New York en route to the English Channel sometime in early June.
