Royal Air Force Pilots During World War II
Royal Air Force pilots from No 58 Squadron RAF Bomber Command posed together at their base in England during World War II circa April 1940. The pilots of No 58 Squadron RAF are currently flying Armstrong Whitworth Whitley twin engine bombers. The pilots are, from left, Canadian pilot Flight sergeant Delbert 'Dinty' Moore, Flight sergeant Peter Elliot, Flight sergeant Kenneth Rawles, Flight sergeant Harold Stone and Flight sergeant James Craig. A similar image to this, with the same pilots, was reproduced on the World War II poster containing the words from Prime Minister Winston Churchill's speech 'Never was so much owed by so many to so few' referring to all Royal Air Force pilots fighting in the Battle of Britain during World War II.
