Russian Seaman Lights Cigarette For Lady

(Original Caption) 6/14/53-Portsmouth, England: Russian seaman Vladimir Schetko of Stalino, Russia, lights a cigarette for British wren Barbara Lee, of Birmingham, England during a garden party given by the Lord Mayor of Portsmouth. Barbara looks just a wee bit suspicious at the Russian's gallantry. Schetko is on the Russian cruiser Sverdlov, anchored off Spithead for a review of the fleet by Queen Elizabeth II on June 15. The party was held for foreign seamen on board ships participating in the review.
