AUSTRIA-KAZAKHSTAN-CRIME-PEOPLE
Picture taken on March 3, 2015 shows an exterior view of the prison cell, in which the former ambassador of Kazakhstan to Austria Rakhat Aliyev was found dead at the Josefstadt prison in Vienna, Austria.
New findings show that Rakhat Aliyev, a prominent opponent and former son-in-law of Kazakhstan's president, did not kill himself but was "murdered" in an Austrian jail last year, his lawyers said on December 12, 2016. The wealthy ex-diplomat, who was facing murder charges, was found hanged in his Vienna prison cell in February 2015 just before he was due to testify in a separate extortion trial. / AFP / APA / HELMUT FOHRINGER / Austria OUT (Photo credit should read HELMUT FOHRINGER/AFP via Getty Images)
