Poltava Bids Farewell To Two Families Who Died Because Of Russian Shelling
POLTAVA, UKRAINE - FEBRUARY 5: People mourn near the coffins during a farewell ceremony for the families of Yavorsky and Zapishny on February 5, 2025 in Poltava, Ukraine. A memorial service is held in the Holy Assumption Cathedral for the families of Yavorsky and Zapishny. All seven lived in the house that was hit by a Russian Kh-22 missile on February 1. Relatives, friends, colleagues, and townspeople came to pay their last respects to the families. The bodies of 9-year-old Sofia and her parents, 37-year-old Olena and Dmytro Yavorsky, were found during the clearing of the rubble. They lived on the second floor. 12-year-old Diana and 7-year-old Daniil Zapishny died with their parents Serhii and Kateryna in the same house.
