Sanitaton Trucks in Front of City Hall

(Original Caption) 9/27/1938-New York, NY- When Mayor Fiorello Henry La Guardia's proposal to end the current trucking strike was refused by the trucking companies, although accepted by the striking drivers, he threatened to break the strike by using city trucks to move materials now at a standstill. To lend weight to his words, the Mayor caused these hundreds of Department of Sanitation trucks to cluster around the City Hall.
