TOPSHOT - TO GO WITH AFP STORY BY JENNIFER O'MAHONY
A mother nurses her newborn at the maternity ward of the Kailahun Government hospital on April 26, 2016, eastern Sierra Leone.
Hard hit by spread of the Ebola virus the capacity of the small hospital in Kailahun has been stretched over the course of the epidemic. In the wake of the Ebola epidemic, and recovering from a long civil war, Sierra Leone is now confronted with the highest maternal mortality rate in the world with a staggering 3100 maternal deaths per year. UNFPA (United Nation Population Fund) supports the local Ministry of Health with a program that promotes maternal health and family planning. / AFP / MARCO LONGARI (Photo credit should read MARCO LONGARI/AFP via Getty Images)
