Dozens urge the Colorado Oil and Gas Conservation Commission (COGCC) to not allow the approval of 84 new wells in Broomfield.

The proposed project has generated a lot of controversy with both Broomfield and Adams county residents upset about the particular location of the wells and how they might affect neighbors and water supplies. Dozens of residents turned out to voice their opposition to the project. The mission statement for the COGCC says that they are charged with fostering the responsible development of Colorado's oil and gas natural resources in a manner consistent with the protection of public health, safety, and welfare, including the environment and wildlife resources.
