The Muslim quarter of Jerusalem's Old City

Men sit, drink coffee and play backgammon in the Muslim Quarter of Jerusalem's Old City. The Muslim Quarter derives most of the business from the Israeli-Arab population of East Jerusalem. For these residents, this ancient marketplace is the main shopping "mall" selling everything from flowers to fruit and vegetables and meat, to clothing, fabric and shoes. You can get a shave and a haircut, find a jeweler and get your shoes repaired while you wait. And in the course of a Saturday's business day, thousands of people crowd the narrow stone streets barely wide enough for a small compact car to pass through. It is a vibrant, colorful place where vendors shout out to passing customers to come shop here, will give you best price and other more flavorful comments.
