UK - Fast Food - New branding for regional McDonald's restaurants

A McDonald's customer tucks into his Big Mac, oblivious to the new trendy coffee bar style ambience and design at the Cannon Street branch of McDonalds in the City of London. This is one of the flagship branches for this new design as the corporation takes on the process of 're-imaging' the fast food chain. This redesign, with new colours: khaki, lime, orange and russet, in a vibrant mixture of geometrics, lines and swooshes has been created for McDonald's by French Designer, Philippe Avanzi. It includes comfortable easy-chairs and stools, drop down lighting and in total, a whole new feel. This is part of a new global strategy to give McDonalds branches in different countries a uniquely local character, both in terms of the decor and some of the food served. The menu has even seen the introduction of sustainably grown coffee, organic milk etc. (Photo by Gideon Mendel/Corbis via Getty Images)
