(Original Caption) Last tribute to his mother slain in bed July 4th, is clutched by Samuel "Chip" Sheppard Jr., 6, who picked pansies for the funeral of Mrs. Sheppard July 7. He also holds his father's pipe and tobacco pouch. Dr. Samuel Sheppard, attended the funeral in a wheelchair against doctor's advice. Authorities mad plans to take him to the murder scene July 8th. Sheppard was wearing a special orthopedic collar said to protect his neck, which he said was injured when he raced upstairs to the aid of his wife.
