John Diefenbaker and George Hees Shaking Hands
(Original Caption) Toronto, Canada: Election time is just six weeks off in Canada and the familiar campaign posters and speeches are becoming more evident every day. Public opinion polls do not give John Diefenbaker, the Progressive Conservative party chieftain, much reason to hope for success in upsetting he firmly entrenched Liberals, but he has started a campaign that promises to be good if not a successful one. Here he is greeted in Toronto by George Hees, M.P., and a group of standard wavers who arranged a giant rally.
