(Original Caption) Dr. John R. Mott, whose 20 years as a missionary, Y.M.C.A. executive and diplomat have brought him a nomination for the Nobel Peace Prize according to advices from Stockholm is shown. The 70 year old trouble shooter has seen service in many lands. During the war he defended the Y.M.C.A.'S Sale of cigarets to soldiers. In 1914, he was appointed to a U.S. Mexican parley. In 1917 he went to Russia with a relief commission and in 1931, he headed a last stand prohibition movement. His last investigation, concerned the charges that Bantu tribesmen in South Africa were being enslaved by industrialist.
