Angela Lansbury and Gold Record
(Original Caption) A Broadway Star. New York, New York: Angela Lansbury's moment of rest one afternoon was pleasantly interrupted by a few visitors. One of them was Clive J. Davis, head of Columbia Records, bearing a golden gift. Mr. Davis (right) presented Angela, the composer of Mame, Jerry Herman (center), and Goddard Lieberson, president of CBS/Columbia Group (left), with gold photograph albums. The original Broadway cast album of Mame recently passed the million dollar sales mark. Miss Lansbury has received several awards for her starring role in the musical, but this is the first time she has been presented the Gold Record in her career.
