YUGOSLAVIA-WAR CRIME TRIBUNAL

Bosnian Serb General Radislav Krstic makes his initial appearance before the International War Crime Tribunal for the former Yugoslavia in The Hague, 07 December. According to the Chief Prosecutor of the UN Tribunal Louise Arbour, Krstic was a key player in the 1995 massacre of Moslems who had sought refuge in the UN security area of Srebrenica in eastern Bosnia during the 1992-1995 Bosnia war. Troops commanded by Krstic and then-military chief Ratko Mladic entered the enclave then rounded up and killed thousands of Moslem men.
