At the Binnenhof the Bailey encounters (Buitenhof), on which a beautiful Bronzed statue of King William II stands. Who was born in 1792 and died in 1849. He had come to the throne in 1840. As Prince of Orange, he commanded at Belle - Alliance, the Dutch troops gegne the French. In the background we see the Great Church (Groote Kerk) with its openwork tower.
